Starbucks manager in Martin Army Community Hospital, Ft Benning GA VERY rude!

My husband & I walked up to the Starbucks in the hospital on Thursday March 14 around noon to find no one behind the counter. After about 5 mins of standing there a woman walked out from the back room & yelled at us "What do you want" in an harsh tone, not even looking at us. My husband also noted that the woman who took our orders breath smelled of alcohol. I did not smell it but my husband is AD Army & would not say such a thing if it weren't true. I asked him again if he was sure & he was firm that she smelled of alcohol. After we ordered, we sat down & I waited for my drink. The guy that ordered after us got a nice "Hi, what can I get for you?" in a much warmer tone. Several orders were taken after that & I still hadn't gotten my drink, so I got up to just get a refund seeing as their rude behavior had turned us off at this point. The woman went to the back room again to get her supervisor because she said she couldn't put the money back on our debit card & that we had to have cash back. That was fine with me, but when the supervisor came out she was clearly pissed & did not say a word to me. She was huffing as she opened the register & handed me my cash back. I said "thank you" and she turned around and briskly walked back into the back room without ever saying a word to me. She was EXTREMELY rude. I also remember that when I was given my refund, the order not only never came, it was also wrong, but that didn't matter to me as I just wanted to get out of there. As we were leaving I overheard that same supervisor talking about us saying "that lady" & nodding toward me & her body language indicated that she was very pissed. I have never been served as badly as I was this day & I do believe that this was a race issue. The 2 women who worked at this Starbucks were African American. My husband & I are white. The man behind us who got the kind welcoming was also African American. I cannot think of why else we were treated so badly seeing as I did nothing but order & after 15 mins of waiting I only asked back for my money. Where I'm from (CA) race is not an issue. I grew up in a melting pot & had friends of all races so this behavior was a slap to the face. I think GA is a little stuck in the old times, but I would never treat a customer the way we were treated that day. I cannot fathom as to how that supervisor is still employed. Whoever is reading this, may also want to investigate this shift for alcohol in the back room as my husband stated he smelled.

I purchase a arizona green tea which is marked on the can .99cent but OMC AAFES charged me 1.05cent for the product I would like to know why I was charged the extra .06cent I talked to the store manger and the store manger said that they had to charge the same price the state charges so I would like to know how the store manger arrived at the extra charge for the can of arizona green tea if you charge 1.05 then the can should not be marked .99cents so which is misleading to AAfes customer. thank you

CRV would account for .05 cents being it was purchased in California, don't know about the other penny. You still must pay CRV on Military Installations in California. Until recently it was included in the price not seperate.

Customer Reviews are not posted

I bought a pair of 14k diamond earings priced for $250 and they were very minuscule even for a baby and the "diamond" was looking worse than a cheap CZ and when I wanted to post a review saying the above so I can alert other people not to waste their money, they rejected my post saying that it does not comply with they rules. I did not use bad words and nothing that was disrespectful. Just told the truth, but that was the problem. If I would have lied and say the earing were gorgeous, I'm sure they would have posted my review/

Beauty Shop

There is a price list sign up at the Barber/Beauty Shop for hair cuts and coloring and highlights. At checkout the manager charged me $50 more then the sign states. When I asked about the pricing she told me it was because the charge for highlights was just a starting price. Now, I know that happens at other beauty shops which is why the sign states and up or depending on how many colors or foils are used. She told me that I have long hair, and hello, they are highlights which are only used at the top of your head so it doesn't matter how long your hair might be. Also, she told me a toner was used and I never was asked if I wanted to pay extra for toner to be used. I could go to a salon and be offered coffee or tea and snacks if I wanted to pay that price. The point of an AAFES barber shop and beauty salon is that it is to be affordable for military.

Ongoin sorry service,no will return email, generally arrogant

its what don't happen, they do not followup on orders, this can go on forever, cant get any satisfaction. This has been going on since 1998 and getting worse.... Cancelled orders are shipped anyway always after the holidays. they will not refund money to bank but require you to have a bank account for payment. When items are out of stock they do not take it offline, they do process order and a month or so later send you a cancellation notice. Then its a 72 hour waiting period each way when you try to communicate with them!! The fighting men and women of this country deserve better and the fat cats need to be removed and sent packing.. Then hire some Vets to run the show..

Unfortunately I recently found the Exchange Auctions and purchased multiple "luxury" watches, jewelry, and a few coins from Exchange Auctions. Every single thing was junk and I mean junk!

The jewelry was so bad my wife said she would be embarrassed to actually wear it. Some of it was broken when it arrived. The watches, 3 of them, were some of the worst examples of a watch you've ever seen. They don't keep time well, some of the buttons to control the under dials don't work at all, and most of all they just feel cheap.

The coins I purchased were not at all in the condition as they were shown online. Most look like they were picked up in a parking lot. There were a few times my winning bid was flat out cancelled and I received BS emails explaining why it had happened, only to see the same item up sometimes within 48 hours. Please beware of these auctions.

The Exchange Auction site is a joke! At Auction is the contracted company that runs this site as well as their own, I have found out. People look at what they are selling in every category they have. Its all JUNK!

ALL OF IT! Literally every page is knock off Chinese ***! These people are the bottom of the barrel and are happily ripping off service members.

Every single person would be good to steer as far clear from this company as possible, that is unless you like your hard earned dollars taken in exchange for junk and sometimes just flat out taken! I wish I had found this site before I bid on any of their junk!

I just had an issue with an order they told me I canceled (I did not). The order status was still said processing though.

I received my money back and ordered from somewhere else. 3 weeks later they charged me for the order. I got my money back and then was charged again and was told the order was never canceled and was on the way out for shipment.

I had to fight to get my money back. I also got my bank involved too.

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy tablet as a Christmas present. After hearing nothing for about a month I emailed using the online order enquiry.

My email asking about my order was ignored. No one ever answered back. I cancelled the order as it was hopeless trying to get anyone to tell me about my order. Thankfully I got them to answer the phone after selecting the option for placing an order.

Your online service sucks. In future I will not be ordering from you.

I will spend my money at Amazon, ebay, Best Buy or anywhere else that actually ships customer orders in a timely fashion. You are causing AAFES to lose business and whomever is in charge of online ordering should be fired.

AAFES has ruined my Holidays

I ordered the 15" MBP w/Retina display, Intel Core i7, 2.6GHz, 512GB from AAFES (Army Air Force Exchange Service) on 26 October and was given an estimated ship date of 2 November. I also ordered an external drive and Apple Care. The first issue was that the external drive I ordered was no longer available from Apple and I never received any word from AAFES until I contacted them when the "estimated" ship date had come and gone. Then, after extensive email traffic to and from service reps with AAFES, I finally was informed that the MBP was backordered until 26 November. Long story short, after the "estimated" ship date has changed three times, I am now being told that the MBP is backordered until 3 December. I am a deployed US Soldier in Afghanistan and in addition to the inconvenience of not having a working computer to commuicate back home and the fact that the shipment of anything with lithium batteries has been banned, I have had to do business with AAFES knowing that they are notorious for horrendous customer service, but they are the only company that can get me a computer that is close to what I want here to an APO address. To date, AAFES has had my 2700+ dollars for over a month and I can get no clear answer to when I will receive my MBP or if the backorder date will continue to move further into December. It completely enrages me that a company, AAFES, has a policy to charge a customer for a product before they actually ship said product, then can give no definitive answers or to why an item is backordered from a "vendor" or when an item will ship. If I could order an item that uses litium batteries from any other company and get it shipped to an APO address, I never would have used AAFES to begin with. And they have the nerve to state in their motto "Serving the best customers in the world" when they do not serve and their custome service is appalling.

Thanksgiving Humiliation

I am Maj Maria de L. Lebron, TDY/LEAVE in Turkey. After almost 3 years without been able to be with my husband, working for the AF. I went to Incirlik AB just to been humiliated by Mr. Ken Chorpenning and his staff (name unknown but Indian looking). After going ou to the BX for a week and happily talking with everybody that still remember me from before (2006). This 2 individuals stopped me while asking me for my TDY papers. I stated that I do not carry them and I do not have to. I was humiliated and I expect a writting appology from this poor customer service Store Manager. Think about this, you go to a base that for you is the only safe area in the entire country and a civilian told me that I am not welcome there without my TDY papers. People, I love the AF and I live AAFES but this type of Manager should be more cooperative with Officers from the AF. CONTACT ME AT- lebron.mria@***.com and maria.lebron@***.af.mil. Phone # in US- 210-219-****. Address- 15338 Nesting Way, San Antonio, TX 78253

Calling BS on this review! Considering all of the spelling and grammatical errors, there's no way in *** that this was written by an AF officer. It's a funny post written by WANNABE Major Lebron.

#682614

"Enlisted Grunt", you do not represent the enlisted force in any way, shape or form. I believe the Major's intent was that the manager should have handled the situation much more courteously.

If I had said "as a SNCO in the AF", would you have had the same response? Customer service is important, and in my experience, even more so OCONUS or austere environments.

If TDY documentation is required while visiting that particular AAFES location, then yes, I can see a staff member informing the customer of the policy, but not in a rude manner. Regardless of rank.

#626515

Should be more cooperative with officers from the Airforce? What makes you think that a commission grants you special treatment.

Do you honestly believe that if you had been an E-1 the behavior would have been justified?

Go and get your TDY orders. Maybe if you had a better grasp on the english language there would be less question as to your legitimacy in the BX.

Denied service but advertises otherwise

On 6 November I went into the AAFES facility located at Misawa Air Base Japan. I wished to utilize Western Union service provided from their facility. A sign posted states that up to a certain amount of cash an I.D. isn't required however when attempting to use their service I was denied. I questioned it and they stated a military ID is required for all services provided by AAFES which isn't true. Actual purchases made from exchange facilities require military ID. All contracted service under AAFES are available to personnel that have appropriate access to the base.

Sick Little McChord Store Manager

I am quitting working for AAFES at McChord. I am tired of the store manager Bill Shoffner sexual advance. He had me in his office with the door close. I thought he wanted to talk to me about increasing my hours. What he did was say how pretty I was and he would give me more hours if I would go out to dinner and we can go to a hotel after. I told him that I was not that kind of girl and left his office in discussed!!! What a weird *** and very sick little man!!!!!! He needs help!!!!

No trust in the EXCHANGE and their management

Once upon a time, let's say it was Friday the 24th of August 2012 and a round of AAFES employees working at Region in Mainz-Kastel, Germany and some of their family members (incl. children) got together to say their goodbye to a fellow co-worker. After a few hours of celebration went by, a supervisor (drunk as a skunk) got up screaming across the whole room so everybody could hear it (none AAFES employees, locals and Army families incl.) "Let's go Mother F......rs" (you fill in the rest of the missing letters). The whole room turned silent, and understandable, we all were embarrassed. What makes matters worse, to this day nobody said a word to him about his behavior, not the SVP nor the VP or his Director of Engineering. This is the "EXCHANGE" and what it stands for, it's not what you know, but who you shake hands with.
